The SolaX X3-Hybrid-5.0-M G4 is a 5kW three-phase hybrid solar inverter designed for residential and small commercial photovoltaic systems requiring intelligent battery storage, high efficiency and reliable backup power. As part of the fourth-generation SolaX X3-Hybrid range, it combines PV generation, battery management, grid interaction and EPS backup functionality in a single compact solution.
The 5kW model supports a maximum PV array power of 10,000Wp, providing substantial oversizing potential for installations where maximizing solar generation throughout the day is important. The inverter incorporates two independent MPPT trackers, with one PV string per tracker on the 5kW version. Each PV input supports up to 16A, with a maximum short-circuit current of 20A per input, making the inverter suitable for modern higher-power solar modules. Its MPPT operating voltage range extends from 180V to 950V, while the maximum PV input voltage is 1000V.
On the AC side, the X3-Hybrid-5.0-M provides 5,000W nominal output power and up to 5,500VA maximum AC output apparent power. The maximum AC output current is 8.1A. The inverter supports three-phase grid configurations including 415/240V, 400/230V and 380/220V, with 50/60Hz operation and a displacement power factor adjustable from 0.8 leading to 0.8 lagging.
Energy storage is a core capability of the X3-Hybrid G4 platform. The inverter supports both lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries within a 180–800V battery voltage range, with a maximum continuous charge/discharge current of 30A. The datasheet specifies maximum PV-to-battery efficiency of 98.5% and maximum battery-to-AC efficiency of 97.5%, helping reduce conversion losses during daily energy storage operation.
For backup applications, the X3-Hybrid-5.0-M provides a dedicated EPS output with 5,000W nominal power and up to 12,000VA peak apparent power for 10 seconds. The specified switching time is less than 10ms, enabling rapid transition to backup operation when the grid supply fails. Parallel operation is also supported. According to the feature overview on page 1, the X3-Hybrid G4 platform supports on-grid and off-grid parallel operation up to 150kW.
The inverter offers a maximum system efficiency of 98.0% and European efficiency of 97.7%. Its IP65 protection rating makes the unit suitable for demanding installation environments, while the specified operating temperature range extends from -35°C to +60°C, with power derating above +45°C. The 5kW model uses natural cooling, helping maintain low operating noise.
Smart energy management is another important advantage of the SolaX X3-Hybrid G4. The platform supports five operating modes, two charging periods, intelligent load management, CT/meter integration and three-phase unbalanced output. Communication options include external RS485 control, Pocket WiFi, optional Pocket LAN or 4G, DRM, USB upgrade and optional NTC. It is also VPP-ready, allowing integration into advanced energy management and ancillary service applications where supported.
With dimensions of 503 × 503 × 199mm and a net weight of approximately 30kg, the SolaX X3-Hybrid-5.0-M G4 combines high PV input capability, high-voltage battery integration, fast EPS backup and intelligent energy management in one three-phase hybrid inverter. It is a strong solution for residential PV and battery storage projects where installers require flexible system design, high conversion efficiency and future-ready energy management functionality.
