Product Description

The SolaX X3-Hybrid-12.0-M G4 is a powerful 12kW three-phase hybrid inverter designed for larger residential and light commercial photovoltaic installations where high solar input capacity, battery storage and reliable backup operation are required. As part of the fourth-generation SolaX X3-Hybrid series, it integrates solar generation, high-voltage battery management, grid interaction and EPS backup into one intelligent energy management platform.

The X3-Hybrid-12.0-M supports a maximum PV array power of 24,000Wp, allowing significant PV oversizing compared with its 12kW nominal AC output. As shown in the technical table on page 2 of the datasheet, the inverter features two independent MPPT trackers, configured for 2 + 1 PV strings. Maximum PV input current is 28A on PV1 and 16A on PV2, while the corresponding maximum short-circuit currents are 35A and 20A. This configuration provides increased flexibility when designing arrays with modern high-power PV modules.

The inverter supports a maximum PV input voltage of 1000V, with a 200V start output voltage, 640V nominal input voltage and a broad 180–950V MPPT operating range. These electrical characteristics provide installers with considerable flexibility when configuring PV strings for different roof layouts and module specifications.

On the grid side, the X3-Hybrid-12.0-M delivers 12,000W nominal AC output power and up to 13,200VA maximum AC apparent output power, representing up to 110% AC overload capability. Maximum AC output current is 19.3A. The inverter supports three-phase nominal voltages of 415/240V, 400/230V and 380/220V, with 50/60Hz grid operation and a displacement power factor adjustable from 0.8 leading to 0.8 lagging.

For energy storage, the inverter supports both lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries operating within a 180–800V battery voltage range. Maximum continuous battery charge and discharge current is 30A. The datasheet specifies a maximum PV-to-battery efficiency of 98.5% and maximum battery-to-AC efficiency of 97.5%, helping minimise conversion losses during everyday charging and discharging.

Backup capability is one of the major advantages of the X3-Hybrid G4 platform. The 12kW model provides 12,000W nominal EPS output power and up to 22,500VA peak apparent power for 10 seconds, with a maximum continuous EPS current of 17.5A. The specified switchover time is less than 10ms, enabling rapid transition to battery-backed operation following a grid outage. Parallel operation is also supported.

The X3-Hybrid-12.0-M achieves a maximum efficiency of 98% and European efficiency of 97.7%. Its IP65 protection rating provides protection for demanding installation environments, while the operating temperature range extends from -35°C to +60°C, with derating above +45°C. The 12kW model uses smart cooling and has dimensions of 503 × 503 × 199mm with a net weight of approximately 30kg.

The feature overview on page 1 also highlights intelligent functions including five operating modes, two charging periods, CT compatibility, intelligent load management, built-in shadow tracking and VPP-ready capability. Three-phase unbalanced output is supported, with up to 5kW output on a single phase, while on-grid and off-grid parallel functionality enables larger system configurations of up to 150kW. Communication options include RS485, Pocket WiFi, optional Pocket LAN or 4G, DRM and USB upgrade.

Combining 24kWp PV capability, 12kW three-phase output, high-voltage battery compatibility and powerful 22.5kVA EPS peak output, the SolaX X3-Hybrid-12.0-M G4 is a versatile solution for larger residential PV installations, energy storage projects and light commercial systems requiring intelligent three-phase energy management and dependable backup power.
